NDLSEC Mission

The mission of the National Disaster Life Support Education Consortium™ (NDLSEC™) is to achieve and promote excellence in education, training, and research related to disaster medicine and public health preparedness for all health professionals based on sound educational principles, scientific evidence, and best clinical and public health practices.

To fulfill its mission and realize its desired impact, the NDLSEC will serve as a community of health professionals dedicated to formalized, life-long learning in disaster medicine and public health preparedness with a shared vision to create a nationwide network of health professionals who are ready, willing, and able to meet the health and safety needs of all persons and communities affected by disasters and public health emergencies.

 

NDLSEC Standing Committees

ADLS Committee performs regularly scheduled reviews of the ADLS™ curriculum and provides recommendations for revision to the NDLSEC™ and NDLSEC Executive Committee.

BDLS Committee performs regularly scheduled reviews of the BDLS™ curriculum and provides recommendations for revision to the NDLSEC™ and NDLSEC Executive Committee.

CDLS Committee performs regularly scheduled reviews of the CDLS™ curriculum and provides recommendations for revision to the NDLSEC™ and NDLSEC Executive Committee.

Training Centers Committee performs regularly scheduled reviews of training center operations, standards and performance and provides recommendations to the NDLSEC™ and NDLSEC Executive Committee.

NDLSEC Special Committees

Instructor Update Committee develops, evaluates and makes recommendations to the NDLSEC and NDLSEC Executive Committee on programs to update NDLS instructors on the latest techniques in education and disaster medical response in order to provide the highest level of education to all NDLS students.

Recertification Committee develops, evaluates and makes recommendations to the NDLSEC and NDLSEC Executive Committee on programs to update and re-certify responders in ADLS, BDLS, and CDLS.

MEMBERSHIP

The NDLSEC is comprised of National Disaster Life Support™ Program Training Centers, professional organizations, and individuals with an interest in disaster medicine and public health preparedness, subject matter experts, and experts in professional education and curriculum development, all of whom participate on a voluntary basis.
